The Korean War took place from 1950-1953. The war is sometimes known as the "Forgotten War" because being between World War II and the Vietnam War, some veterans that fought during the Korean War consider themselves forgotten. However, today there is now a Korean War Veteran Memorial built at the National Mall. Now the veterans should be considered well recognized.
