Argument for or Against the Korean War
The Korean War was war that took place for 3 years through 1950-1953. The war was between North and South Korea and it also included multiple countries such as the United States, China, United Nations, Soviet Union, and many more. But the question is was the Korean War even necessary? I believe that the war was not necessary because they could have settled the conflict in a political matter, it made the Cold War hot, and today, there is still tension between North and South Korea.
First of all, the conflict between the North and South Koreans could have been settled in a political matter. The North Koreans just suddenly invaded the South Korea. The South Koreans had no choice but to declare war against the North Koreans because if they didn't, the North Koreans would have continued to invade South Korea and would eventually capture it and have it under their control. The North and South Koreans could have settled the conflict by having meetings and settling the conflict politically. But instead the Soviet Union and North Korea decided to take aggression and pursue war.
Furthermore, the Korean War made the Cold War get intense and "hot," The Korean War was the first major clash between Communist Nations and the Free-World. The Korean War led to later battles that later took place in the Cold War. The Korean War was the start of a series of battles. It made the Cold War become intense. Before the Korean War, the weapons were economic and diplomatic. However, when the Korean War began the war became hotter and bloody.
Finally, today, there is tension between North and South Korea. When the Korean War ended, both sides signed an armistice. The armistice was just cease-fire and it never settled with a peace treaty. The armistice just stopped the shooting, but it never ended the tension and conflict between the two nations. Today, the North and South Koreans are still fighting and still have tension between each other. The Korean War did not seem to solve anything because it pretty much went back to the beginning: Korea is divided on the 38th parallel.
I do realize that other people would say that the Korean War was necessary because there was no communism spread to South Korea. However, I still stand by my side because North Korea is still one of the communist nations that remain in the world and there is still tension between the North and South Korea.
There are many reasons whether the Korean War was necessary or not. However, I believe that the Korean War was not necessary. The reasons for my beliefs is that I feel there could have been a different way to solve the problem in a less violent matter, the Cold War would have been less intense, and there is still tension between the North and South Koreans today.

Implications
The implications I can draw about the role of the Korean War to the world today is that I think it made the economy and political governments of Korea worst because the Korean War caused more tension between North and South Korea. Also I feel that the Korean War did not solve anything because they went back to where they started: having Korea being divided on the 38th parallel peninsula. Today, Korea still has tension between the two nations. I think that the Korean War brought economic problems to some parts of the world and was able to help the United States economy.
