South Korean Response
On June of 1950, when North Korea invaded South Korea, the city of South Korea fell. The North Koreans decided to keep heading southward of the Korea. Within two days, the U.S. offered military equipment and naval supplies to South Korea and the United Nations Council asked their members to participate on South Korea's side. South Korea accepted all the forces and decided to rebel against North Korea.
The Effects of South Korea's Response
The effect of South Korean's response to North Korea's invasion was that when they accepted the forces offered to them and decided to rebel against North Korea, it initiated a war. North Korea was deeply threatened by South Korea because they had a more developed economy, a much bigger population, and a much modernized army than they did. They also had the U.S. by their side which made the North Koreans more scared because they feared that the United States would use nuclear weapons on them. The North Koreans saw it as though they were surrounded by their enemies.
Implications
I feel that the role of South Korea's response gave North Korea to fight harder because they wanted South Korea to be united with North Korea but also rule under a communist government. Before, I think the North Korea would find it easy to take South Korea under their rule if they invaded South Korea, they would get scare and surrender. However, South Korea's response was probably a surprising to North Korea and made them want to work harder and win the war. South Korea's response resulted in a war and it gave also was a chance for them to unite Korea but under anti-communism. I think their response was a call for action o stand up for themselves and those who are endanger of communism.
