Role of China
When the North Koreans and South Koreans went to war many nations were involved in this, one of the nations was China. China was very activate in the Korea War, they participated and supported the North Korean's side. After the landings at Inchon landings, two representatives from North Korea went to Beijing and asked China to send troops to Korea. General MacArthur wanted to cross the 38th parallel and Truman agreed that the UN forces can cross the 38th parallel. However, on October 3, China announced that if the United States crossed the 38th parallel, then China will intervene into the war. The U.S did not believe that China would intervene into the war.
By October 9th, 1950, China had four armies and three artillery divisions on the Yalu River. On October 10, in Moscow, Stalin and representatives of China discussed Korea. China's purpose was to get as much help from the Soviet Union as possible. Stalin said that the Soviet Union would not send troops but they would provide the Chinese, military equipment and war material left over from World War II. On October 15, UN forces has entered Pyongyang. Mao was worried that they were almost by the Yalu River so he sent his troops over. When the UN crossed the border, they saw that they were outnumbered so they retreated back across the 38th parallel. The goal now was to negotiate with North Korea which would lead Korea to still be divided. Later on General MacArthur wanted to bomb China but Truman felt that it would lead to a bigger war.

The effect of China's Invovlement
China's involvement in the Korean War made an impact to the North Koreans. The North Koreans were about to be defeated but it gave hope for the North Koreans. The involvement allowed the North Koreans to survive the war and be able to keep going in the war. Without China's involvement North Korea would have been destroyed. However, at the end of the Korean War, China suffered from casualties that were up to 1 million soldiers.
Implications
The implications I can draw about China's role in the Korean war was that it made an impact for the North Koreans because it gave them hope and confidence that now they might be able to win the war. China's involvement on being in the North Korea's side probably gave the U.S. fear that they could win and that since China and North Korea are both communist nations, they both would spread communism all over Asia and Europe.
